The Chairman of GODWIN OBLA FOUNDATION, Chief Godwin Odumu Obla, SAN, has, through his Foundation, assisted security agencies in Otukpo with motorcycles and various sums of money to assist them in the onerous task of fighting criminal activities and maintenance of security. Chief Obla also donated various sums to assist the families of security personnel who were killed in the 20th October 2023 Black Friday attacks on commercial banks in Otukpo metropolis during which many innocent people were gruesomely murdered.

Presenting the motorcycles and cash donations through Och’Idoma, His Royal Majesty Agabaidu Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, in the Och’Idoma Palace in Otukpo, Chief Godwin Obla, represented by his Director General, Elder Michael Ubah Obande, JP, told the audience that GODWIN OBLA FOUNDATION is Non-Governmental, non-political, and non-profit oriented, with a vision to improve average lifespan and a mission to improve the quality of life index, especially in the Benue South Senatorial District. He added that the Foundation recognises that security plays a critical role in healthy living.
“The GODWIN OBLA FOUNDATION, in consideration of the critical/strategic role of security agencies, and as part of our social responsibilities, donate one motorcycle and two hundred thousand naira to the zonal office of the Benue State Volunteer Guards, as well as three motorcycles and three hundred thousand naira to their Otukpo Local Government office, to ease their operations. We also humbly make available one million naira to the wife of the slain Otukpo Divisional Police Officer(Emmanuel Adikwu), half a million naira in respect of late Inspector Adiza Bello, half a million naira for late Inspector Onyimowo, and half a million naira also with respect to late PC Emmanuella. These are GODWIN OBLA FOUNDATION’s humble contributions to the families of the slain Officers to defray some unintended expenses during their burials and also assist them in their difficult moments.”
HRM Agabaidu thanked Chief Godwin Obla for his endless philanthropic gestures and appealed to other blessed Idoma sons and daughters to emulate the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Idomaland, by being their brothers keepers always. The Royal Father charged the security agencies and families of the deceased Officers to utilise the items donated judiciously.
Responding on behalf of the families of the slain Officers, Mrs Rose Adikwu, expressed their utmost gratitude to Chief Godwin Obla, and his Foundation, for reaching out to them in such trying times.
